Dear Friends,

A year ago this week we celebrated the arrival of our first grandchild. Today we gather with family and friends to celebrate his birthday. His beginning in our world was a bit rough as he had a bit of difficulty breathing at first, but now he is a strong, healthy, happy, active, and opinionated red head. It’s been fun watching him grow, while also watching his parents grow into their important roles.

Growth is fun to celebrate!

I also celebrate the growth experienced at ALC! This year you took on the challenge of six lay-led worship services and have completed five of them. I love hearing how well each service went, and of how you all worked together to make them happen.

This month some of you made sure that our church will be present at some important local events. Trans Songs of Change (9/12-13) and Burbank Pride (9/28). It is wonderful that participants at these events will experience love and acceptance from you as you live our mission to be a shepherding force in the community.

Growth is fun to celebrate! I can’t wait to see what else this mighty church will do!

I look forward to worshiping with you all tomorrow on God’s Work. Our Hands. Sunday

Peace in Christ,

Rev. Nancy Switzler
