Sunday School

Sundays During Worship Gatherings

Children are fully welcomed into our Worship Gatherings. And, during the middle of the service, children are welcome to participate in a children's message and then gather for a 20-25 minute Sunday School program (in the conference room/classroom). Children are walked back into the sanctuary right before Communion.

Youth Group

1st & 3rd Wednesdays in Grace Hall at 6 pm.

Join us for a time of hanging out, games, food, and a brief life/spiritual lesson.

More Than a Church

A Welcoming Church in the Heart of Burbank

American Lutheran Church, a progressive ELCA congregation and Reconciling in Christ community in Burbank, offers folks a chance to become part of something greater--To grow in their love of God and for one another within our beautiful community.

We are rooted in the stories of the Bible and believe worship is something that can be expressed in everything we do. Our philosophy is founded on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we are queer affirming, neurodivergent affirming, and committed to doing the work to be anti-ableist and anti-racist.

ALC Burbank Vision & Mission

In the course of ALC's current transition and discernment process, leadership created a vision and mission statement to guide our steps. We officially voted on it and debuted it on Easter Sunday 2025.

Vision:
We are called to be a nurturing community practicing acceptance, hope, love, and service.

Mission:
We (the members of ALC) follow Jesus' actions to be a shepherding force by accepting, embracing, and nurturing all of creation.

Church Ethos (Adapted with permission from ™ Mark Tidd)

Married, divorced and single here,

it’s one community that thrives here.

Conservative and liberal here,

we’ve all gotta give a little here.

Big and small here,

there’s room for us all here.

Doubt and believe here,

we all can receive here.
LGBTQ+ and straight here,

there’s no hate here.

Nonbinary, woman and man here,

everyone can here.

Neurodiverse, allistic and autistic here,

all of our abilities matter here.

Whatever your race here,

for all of us grace here.

Abled and disabled, all are welcome here.

In the sanctuary of ALC or the sanctuaries of our homes, all are in-person here.

In imitation of the ridiculous love Almighty God has for each of us and all of us,

let us live and love without limitations!
