Beloved Community,

This Sunday, as we read Matthew's account of Jesus moving into new territory and calling unexpected disciples to join his ministry, we celebrate our identity as a Reconciling in Christ congregation.

Just as Jesus crossed boundaries to create beloved community in Galilee, ALC Burbank commits to being a place where LGBTQIA+ siblings are fully welcomed, embraced, and celebrated as beloved children of God.

When Jesus called those first disciples, he didn't ask for credentials or conformity - he invited them to come as they were, bringing their whole selves to this sacred journey.

At ALC Burbank, we follow this example, recognizing that God's love knows no limits and that our community is stronger when all can bring their authentic selves to worship, serve, and lead.

Whether you're questioning, coming out, or living proudly, you'll find family here.

Together, we're building a church that reflects the beautiful diversity of God's creation and embodies Christ's radical welcome - a place where all are truly seen, valued, and embraced as integral parts of our faith community.

Let us continue to follow Jesus' example, crossing boundaries and creating space where God's love transforms lives.

In Christ's Inclusive Love,

Ric Hauck

Council President
