Beloved Community,

Thank you to everyone who participated in the potluck on November 23 to celebrate Pastor Nancy's ministry here at ALC Burbank. Her impact on our congregation continues to inspire us as we move forward. As your council president, I look forward to sharing some thoughts and reflections with you throughout this Advent season.

As we journey through Advent, Matthew's Gospel reminds us that God's work often unfolds in unexpected ways. Just as John's disciples were told to look for signs of God's presence, our congregation stands on the threshold of transformative developments in our worship and community life.

These times of transition invite us all to discover new ways to serve and support one another as we live out our calling to be a nurturing community practicing acceptance, hope, love, and service.

Like those who waited and watched in biblical times, we, too, are called to remain attentive to how the Spirit moves among us - calling each of us to share our gifts in building God's kingdom.

As a shepherding force that accepts, embraces, and nurtures all of creation, we trust that God's grace continues to unfold in our community in exciting new ways.

Stay tuned, and consider how you might be called to participate in this next chapter of our journey together.

With joyful anticipation,

Ric Hauck
